Amee VanTassell Memorial Scholarship

The Hamburger Family has set up an annual scholarship in honor of their daughter Amee VanTassell. The scholarship -- totaling $500 of financial aid for entries and $500 for coaching fees -- will be awarded to a student at Rivendell Riding Academy.
Amee started out as a student at RRA and became a favorite teacher of many students for several years. She also became a skilled rider and trainer, bringing home many blue ribbons on both her own horse and others. Her infectious laugh brought joy to all those around her. Although she had moved on to a career in law, she was an exemplary horsewoman and competitor.
RRA students interested in this award will be required to write an essay describing and explaining how horses and riding have enriched their lives. Submissions will only be accepted through the Rivendell Riding Academy website. Submission deadline is March 15, 2014. The winner will be announced on April 1.
